Happy Retirement to Marc Messina

Please join us in wishing Marc “Marco” Messina, Corporate Warehouse Manager,  a happy retirement after 39 years of service to Erie Materials. 
Marco joined Erie Materials in 1985 as a warehouse employee.  He was a local “kid” who Bob Neumann knew from Westhill High School.  At the time when he started there were only two branches: Syracuse, and Auburn.
Marco held a variety of jobs in the Syracuse warehouse including Assistant Warehouse Manager, Dispatcher and Warehouse Manager.  He was also one of the first drivers to acquire a CDL.  Marco was eventually promoted to Corporate Warehouse Manager where he would spend most of his career. 
Marco had a significant impact on the standardization of our warehouse operations at a time when Erie was experiencing significant growth.  He was a stickler for details and none of the Warehouse Managers will forget his infamous Safety and Warehouse audits!  He had a great way with people and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and loyalty to his coworkers, customers and the company.
Marco expressed his sincere appreciation for the Neumanns and all the support that they have provided throughout the years.  He will miss his co-workers, whom he refers to as family.  He has forged a lot of customer relationships and considers himself fortunate to know such great people.
